29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. 27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side and be not faithless, but believing. 26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. 25 The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. A ‘Thomas’ FaithĢ4 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. Their faith is based on their feelings whereas it should be based on God’s word. If they don’t feel particularly good they think He has not heard them. When they feel good, they think God has heard their prayers. We need to get acquainted with Him through the Word.” Too many people try to get acquainted with God through their personal feelings. I can only understand God the Father and Jesus Christ by what the Word says about them.
I can’t understand the Lord Jesus Christ by feelings. The beloved man of faith, Smith Wigglesworth, once said, “I can’t understand God by feelings. Central Truth: A formula for faith is: (1) Find a promise in God’s Word for whatever you are seeking, (2) Believe God’s Word, (3) Do not consider contradictory circumstances, and (4) Praise God for the answer.
